About us
Vietnamese Family Partnership (VFP, or ‘Gia Đình Việt’ in Vietnamese) is a local, London-based grassroots charity, which supports the Vietnamese community and promotes wider understanding of Vietnamese culture. VFP is also the parent organisation of VietSchool London.
Although VFP was officially established in 2019, our CEO and founder, Quynh Giao Nguyen has been a key member of the local Vietnamese community for many years, hosting community events long before this time, teaching at VietSchool London as well as originally founding a Vietnamese women’s charity which has now grown into VFP, offering more services to Vietnamese people in the area. Services now include our Advice & Support Centre as well as our Language School, offering Vietnamese and English classes.
We also host events to bring the community together and fundraise for the charity, particularly our two flagship events celebrating Lunar New Year and the Mid-Autumn/Moon Festival. Our local events have attracted over 2,000 people in the past and earned media coverage.
Our Mission
To bring the Vietnamese community together and help them to thrive in wider British society and beyond and to champion Vietnamese culture in the UK.
Our Vision
To have a strong, connected Vietnamese ecosystem where both overseas Vietnamese and British-born Vietnamese children, young adults, elders and families are empowered to thrive, not only in their local communities but in wider society as well, with the hope that in turn, they will go on to support future generations and diasporas to do the same.
Our Values
Identity
We help people to (re)connect with their Vietnamese identity and explore Vietnamese culture, whether they’re overseas Vietnamese, British born or just have an interested in Vietnam and its culture/history.
Community
We provide a safe space for those with a passion and interest in the Vietnamese culture and heritage to come together and feel like they belong, while helping them integrate and navigate into wider society and utilise local services to help them integrate into local communities.
Diversity & Inclusion
We welcome and respect people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs. While some of our services are geared towards the Vietnamese diaspora, we are inclusive and will help where we can; where we are unable to assist for whatever reason, we may be able to signpost to alternative local services which may be better equipped to help.
